Minutes of July 2009 Parish Council Meeting
Held on Wednesday the 15th at 7:00pm in the Village Hall.

Cllr P Bence declared an interest in Manor Farm development.
- Approval of previous minutes
The minutes of the previous meeting were read, amended, agreed and signed by the Chairperson as a true record of the July meeting.
- Matters arising from previous minutes
- No. 33 High Street
No discernible remedial work carried out on Village Green so far. Formal letter detailing requirements to be sent if no progress by end of July 2009.
- New entrance formed off Cobby Castle Lane
Issues raised with Darlington Borough Council have not been addressed, and will be re- instigated with DBC by the clerk.
- Dog Control
Clerk to inform DBC of BPC comments regarding items considered relevant to Bishopton, i.e. (a) Failing to remove dog faeces (b)Not putting, and keeping, a dog on a lead when requested to do so by authorised officer.
- Planning matters
Applications - None
In future, all planning applications including those discussed outside formal notified meetings will be minuted. Planning applications received after one meeting but requiring response prior to next meeting will instigate interim BPC meetings if necessary.
- Matters raised by councillors 7 days prior to meeting
- Conservation leaflets will be included in the BPC "Welcome Pack".
- Notices regarding the new Lynx service will be displayed in both bus shelters and the village notice board, and will be included in the "Welcome Pack".
- Traffic calming measures will be raised with the traffic manager of DBC, and consideration given to placing camera signs at each end of the village.
- Village Green
- Clerk wrote formally to StreetScene concerning salt damage caused by winter road salting but no reply has been received as yet. Clerk to follow up. Two quotes to be obtained for re-turfing the affected areas.
- Excessive tree growth on village green affecting residents. Clerk instructed to write to DBC.
- Bishopton Community Group
A meeting is planned during first two weeks of October, 2009, to be ratified by the Church Committee on 20th. July 2009 meeting.
- Wind Farm Proposal
West Newbiggin proposal continuing to be monitored, no further information.
- New Residents
No new residents notified. "Welcome Pack" will be distributed to all residents within the parish of Bishopton when all leaflets for inclusion have been received.
