Minutes of February 2009 Parish Council Meeting
Wednesday 25th 7pm in the Village hall.

There were no declarations of interest in items on the agenda
- Approval of previous minutes
The minutes of the previous meeting were read, amended, agreed and signed by the Chairperson as a true record of January 2009 the meeting.
- Matters arising from previous minutes
- As nothing had been heard from Mr Sturrock it was agreed that the Parish Clerk would attempt to arrange a site meeting involved the resident and Parish Council Members. This to take place within the next 2/3 Sundays
- Traffic survey
Cllr Jones advised that it would be very expensive to use a private consultant to advise on Traffic/Parking and offered to contact the Highways Dept in order to seek their advice
- New church gates - the PCC have thanked the Parish Council for their kind offer to paint and repair the church gates but are to complete the job themselves. Mr Schott has been advised that his assistance is no longer required as this time. The final details of any other requests to be made by the church will be given at a later date when all facts are known.
- Path outside The Barn - The Parish Clerk has not received any correspondence regarding this matter and it was agreed to wait until the March meeting before making any further decisions.
Specifications for Tarmac both on footpaths and roads were submitted to the members and these have been approved ready for any further work carried out on the village green
- 20 kilos of grass seed has been purchased ready for the re-seeding this year
- It was agreed that the last stock of natural stone from Simply Landscape be purchased so that the Parish Council has stocks ready for the Manor Farm Development. Stone to be stored with Cllr Fabi.
- Mr Peter Smith is the only candidate to show an interest in the job of Parish Clerk. The members asked the Parish Clerk to make arrangements to meet with Mr Smith in order to discuss the job responsibilities and to ask him to attend the March meeting.
- Members were advised that all leaves had been dealt with by Streetscene in the last works and that some residents have said that they are very happy with the result.
- A report about the Stakeholders Event on the 12th February at the Holgarth was given by Cllr Moses

Daniel Wells presented the new website to the members, who unanimously agreed that it was excellent and represented all areas of the community. The members congratulated Daniel on his work and initiative. Daniel will be maintaining the website on behalf of the Parish Council in the future
- Hedgerows
The condition of the hedgerow at the end of the village was again discussed and Cllr Jones offer to speak to the Highways Dept on the Council's behalf
- Bird Scarer
It was reported that a bird scarer in the village was disturbing some residents. Cllr Jones to investigate any rules regarding such
- Village Green
- Parish Clerk to establish from Phil Haynes what works have been
carried out on the village green
- Cllr Bence to distribute logs retrieved from the last tree felling.
- Parish Council to contact Mr F Wall to instruct him to begin trimming when he feels fit and to also ask him to look at the edging near derelict cottages which is in need of repair. A quote to be given.
- Parish Clerk to contact Northumberland Water re re-planting builds at the lay-by/bridge
- Parish Clerk to contact Streetscene to ensure that they do not weed-kill and also to request that they wash all signs in and around the village.

- It was agreed to carry out another litter pick on March 29th. Parish Clerk to put details in Parish News and also arrange for resources from Streetscene. Rubbish to be picked up from bottom lay-by on Marsh 30th.
- It was noted that the church clock has stopped. It was felt that this was the responsibility of the PCC.
- A member raised a query about the Calor Village of the Year Award feeling that a community project may bring the residents together
